I saw this on stac’s blog. Had to steal it and post it here…
Jared spent all of Monday afternoon after school putting the finishing touches on his science project. His topic was fairly simple - how to generate enough static electricity to create a shock with a spark and with my consistent nagging he should have finished it well before the day before it was due, but I digress… during the two or three hours it took for me to proofread and type his content, print his photos, help him cut stuff out, etc… the kid had to “go to the bathroom” at least five or six times. I hate to admit that I thought he was trying to avoid actually working on the project and was putting all of the last minute stuff on me. Because at about 1:45 AM, just after dozing off (was still getting over a cold and a nagging nighttime cough) he was beside my bed muttering something about vomit. Sighs. Didn’t get much sleep that night.
On Tuesday, as much as I tried to resist it, I came down with that horrible bug myself. Not fun at all. I vow to never use my kid’s leftover milk in my coffee again, as I did on Monday morning. You never know what kind of stuff they’re carrying around.
Today I’m feeling nearly 100% better although I don’t have much of an appetite and my energy level is zero. Wet weather means you don’t really have to feel guilty about staying inside so Joey and I mostly just vegged on the couch until Jason brought the other boys home from school. He’d told me this morning that he planned on coming home early, since he had to pick the boys up for me anyway, and we could clean out the garage. So unfortunately his arrival meant that I had to actually get up and move. Thankfully though, the garage wasn’t too horrible because I tend to keep all the junk that needs to be thrown away in one central location (right in the middle LOL) and everything worth keeping is stored in plastic bins alongside the walls.
Mundane as it is, that’s my week so far, in a nut shell. ![]()
Just have to get this out there… I am LOVING iGoogle as my homepage. Love the tabs, love all the little thingies you can put on there, love being able to read my subbed blogs even more easily. So, saw this on Yen’s blog and thought I would play along…
If the statement, ‘You are what you eat’ was true, I would be a _______.
-I would be an oatmeal creme pie.
If you had to have one piece of music (softly) playing in your mind for the rest of your life, what would you want it to be?
-Time (Ben Folds)
What is the most important thing in any relationship?
-Faith
That is, if soaking my feet, blogging, and drinking coffee can count as multitasking.
I have been intending on blogging all week long. There were so many things that I wanted to write about, but now that the boys are with my mother-in-law and the house has been peaceful and quiet since yesterday afternoon - I can’t really remember all those things I was wanting to write about. I’m sure the cold medicine I had to take earlier (for a stuffy nose and sore throat) is partly to blame for my dementia.

I wrote all of the above yesterday afternoon. Jason walked in the door and started kidding me about sitting on the computer all day so I got off to spend some time with him before we were bombarded with kids again. We ended up heading to Lowe’s to find some more things for the vegetable garden and I was desperate for some flowers and containers to keep on our deck. Afterwards, we met MIL and the boys at the Chinese buffet. Then we were back home again with 3 of 4 boys. They eagerly helped me get my containers full of dirt and then lost interest shortly thereafter. I only have 3 medium sized pots and one 36″ long window type box - wish I had gotten a whole lot more for the deck, but I was trying to stay conservative. We’re also growing zinnias and sunflowers out in the yard so I will hopefully get my fill of flowers. I don’t have a very green thumb.
Pictures of the garden and flowers to come later. For now I will leave you with my favorite photo from last week…

Oh, and HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY to all the MOMS out there! ((((HUGS))))
Saturday, May 3rd is NSD (National Scrapbooking Day) and Scrapbook Graphics is going to be the place to be for chats (with giveaways), challenges, games, awesome deals, and lots of inspiration (’cause you know you don’t want to shop the whole weekend away)!
On Saturday, I will be hosting my NSD chat at 2:00 pm (EST) and I have the little goodie shown below for all who stop by to chat with me…

And here’s the whole schedule of the the NSD festivities @ SBG

Hope to “see” you soon!
It is hard to believe it is May already. Where has the year gone?
IO…Motherhood is now available. Take a look at this lovely collaboration:
See some inspiration and learn more about the collaboration (and how you can win a free copy) by checking out the Studio Matters blog.
Only 10 days to crank out some Mother’s Day presents. Teacher Appreciation Week is next week, too. Looks like I am going to be very busy making food, handmade gifts, and stuff.
I have been a little preoccupied with scrapbooking this week. I seem to have found my mojo again, but apparently I am still just as slow as I ever was!
So, this is Jared (below), our next to the oldest. He recently went through this stage of “growing his hair out”. I loved it. He has beautiful shiny blondish hair, much like my own when I was younger (at my age now it is just a stringy mess), so I loved that he let it grow out a bit. But at the same time we were constantly having to say “Jared, get your hair out of your eyes”, “Jared, can you see?”, etc… The phase of growing his hair out has since ended, but he is still just as rockin’!

Thanks for all the nice comments welcoming me back to the blogging world!!
